While it may seem to you that Bright Beginnings Foundation has been in a deep sleep, in actual fact the directors have been working very hard. We have been applying for grants so that BBF can continue to provide small grant to needy students while we still keep our eye on our main goal. We will not lose sight of the fact that our main objective is to provide “all-in” scholarships to students who live in poverty and are not able to attend post-secondary without our help.
We are very excited to welcome a new director, we have updated our brochure and table displays and are making big plans for the next few months. Our first event will be the BCTF AGM. From March 18th – March 20th Bright Beginnings Foundation will be setting up our table in the Social Justice area near our “Sister Foundation”, the Jane Tyler Foundation. If you are at the BCTF AGM come visit us.
Once again the Bright Beginnings Foundation is going to be at Surrey’s Vaisakhi Parade on April 15th. We are so excited about this because we are reminded that it was this time last year that BBF was launched into the community. Again, I am reminded about how far we have come in this one year alone! Please stop by. We will be in front of Strawberry Hill Elementary School (7630 – 124th St.) and have our signature craft for children and candy for all.
For the third year in a row Bright Beginnings Foundation will be at the STA Teachers’ Association Convention on May 5th. We will have tables at both the Elementary (Kwantlen Park Secondary) and Secondary (Johnston Heights) Sites. Please stop by if you are there.
