Inflation getting you down? BBF has the answer.
Is the daily onslaught of news about the state of the world getting you down? Does the economic situation keep you up at night? Do you worry about the future for your children and grandchildren?
Bright Beginnings Foundation truly feels your pain and is here to help. We want to give you a well-deserved (albeit temporary) reprieve. We are offering you an evening of entertainment, good food, camaraderie and fun. And better still…
BBF is declaring that, INFLATION BE DAMNED!! The seat price is unchanged since 2019!
So, mark Friday, February 10th, 2023 on your calendar and join us for our 4th Annual BRIGHT FUTURES for SURREY YOUTH Banquet. (Yes, we are trying to erase the last three years when we were unable to carry on our banquet tradition).
And now, here’s a reminder of why BBF exists.
In the words of one of our students:
“Having the money that the BBF so graciously donated towards my education has allowed me to focus whole heartedly on my studies and also has helped me to find a good rhythm without having to worry about working. I plan to get a part-time job next semester, now that I have a good foundation when it comes to finding a healthy school-life balance and making good study habits.
Thanks again for your support and faith in me as a student.
I really appreciate all that BBF has done for me!”
We are thankful that our last banquet was so successful, as it helped BBF weather the financial storms of the Pandemic and the downturn in the economy. And now it’s time to look forward to another banquet and another chance to make a bright future for more students.
We are so excited about getting back on track after a three-year interruption. On Friday, February 10th, the BRIGHT FUTURES for SURREY YOUTH banquet will again feature local performing artists, a fabulous dinner and a wine and beer bar. As well, we are accumulating an extraordinary array of silent auction and raffle items.
Four years ago, we charged $55 per person for an evening of fun and entertainment. This time, despite inflation, the price is the same. Reserve your seats here.
Special Guest Speaker Rae-Anne LeBrun
We are happy to welcome a very special Guest Speaker. Rae-Anne is near and dear to our hearts. Unbeknownst to her until recently, it was her story that gave Bright Beginnings Foundation the final push we needed to start our organization almost eight years ago. When we heard her story, we realized that the dream of starting a foundation which provides full-ride bursaries was indeed possible.
Rae-Anne will share her life story of struggle and resilience. This young woman, owner of Decolonizing Daughters and Slam Poet is now working professionally to support youth who face oppression and poverty. She believes that access to post-secondary education is key to overcoming the hurdles that face so many Surrey graduates.
