Why Give to BBF?

Bright Beginnings Foundation provides full tuition, student fees (eg. health plan, transit pass) and course materials for students who have the desire to obtain a post-secondary education but not the financial means.

Here is an example of what your donation can do:

$150 health plan per year

$200 course materials per term

$250 health and dental plan per year

$800 student fees per year (college or trade school)

$1,250 student fees per year (university)

$2,500 tuition per term (university)

$3,500 tuition per year (college or trade school)

We appreciate all donations. Please consider being a BBF-BFF (Monthly or Legacy Donor). Whether through a regular monthly donation, a gift in a will, a gift of securities, or an endowment fund, legacy giving is a powerful way to see that students and families continue to be given better lives. Being a BBF-BFF gives us stability of income and allows us to better plan for the numbers of students we are able to help.

Please help us lay a pathway to a bright future

Other Ways to Get Involved

Besides monetary donations, we are always looking for donations of time and energy. Many hands make light work.

If you, or someone you know, has a local business that is looking to increase visibility in the community, Bright Beginnings Foundation is looking for partners. Together we can come up with a fun and creative way for you to reach into the community while we raise funds to help our students. If you are interested in becoming involved, please contact us

Each year, Bright Beginnings Foundation holds a Silent Auction at our fundraiser. Our tables always see robust activity. We are always looking for items to auction. Big sellers range from Gift Certificates to Restaurants, Trades Companies and Workers, Hotel Bookings, Trips and Spa treatments to handcrafted items. If you have goods or services to donate, please contact us

Bright Beginnings Foundation needs to “polish our on-line presence”, as our Fundraising instructor once told us. We need help with this. Are you comfortable using social media? We need someone who will set up accounts, post and engage with BBF followers. If you are interested in becoming involved, please contact us.

If you have any other questions or want to get involved, please contact us

Acknowledgements

Bright Beginnings Foundation is very proud of our long list of financial supporters. Without these individuals and organizations we would not be able to do the work we do to change the lives of our students and their families.

We are so grateful for the financial support of:

R.R.Smith Memorial Fund (Ret. Teachers)

Surrey Teachers’ Association (STA)

STA Economic Justice Committee

BBNH Fund

North Delta Rotary Club*

K.E.A.T. Canada

plus numerous individual, monthly and legacy donors and supporters.

*We are thankful to this Club, which has generously donated laptops to BBF students who don’t have access to one.

BBF has also appreciated other kinds of support since our inception. Setting up and administering a foundation takes much more than just financial support. From advice on how to set up a foundation, to technical and editorial support, these people and organizations believe in our mission. We would like to recognize some of our many contributors and supporters.
